Frequently Asked Questions

How does ADSUK differ from other societies?

The broad scope of subjects and activities that the Society aims to cover is driven by members’ and supporters’ passions rather than academic theory. It encompasses graphic and interior design, transport, film, music and fashion as well as architecture and ceramics. We aim to inform and educate by offering online events, a library of articles, and to be a contact point for those wanting more information about the subject. We are a voice and support for the preservation of Art Deco in the UK, and offer advice and financial support for particular causes. You can find out more about this [here]

It is run as a not-for-profit association with a core committee of volunteers. The Society’s Committee includes a wide spread of expertise including people experienced in the management of other societies and museums, preservation specialists, and historians. Listed below are the key elements of governance in place so far:

You can become a Supporter of ADSUK by signing up here Supporter Benefits
The cost for an annual Supporter is £20 (or £18 by Direct Debit).

You can easily join via our MojoMember portal by completing the form using a suitable email address to which we can reply and add us to your contact list or address book.

To keep the costs to both the member and society as low as possible, we don’t mail out anything for renewals. Your continued membership subscription will help us to keep the society running, and ensure that we are able to support the preservation of Art Deco buildings and objects, and allow us to continue our outreach work.

The society is active on both BlueSky and Instagram @ArtDecoSocUK
